On February 28, 2020, the Macuata Provincial Council’s Office hosted the Provincial Council Meeting at the Khastriya Hall, Naodamu, Labasa. The purpose of the meeting is to bring together the members of Council, the government departments, Non-Government Organizations, Church Leaders in the Provincial so that there is a constructive discussions on way forward to assist the council in the promotion of its policies for economic, cultural and social development of the province in order to gratify on the five (5) platforms that the Board and the councils have been upholding for iTaukei Communities.
It is a great honor to have The Commissioner Northern as Chief Guest with his opening remarks as I quoted “A Transformed iTaukei Family for a better Fiji. The Ministry of iTaukei Affairs encouraged iTaukei Families to be more focused on their individual families in terms of the promotion of economic, cultural and social developments to its members”. He further enlightened on the 5-20 years Development Plan of the Government of the Day from which development priorities of provinces are centred. He then elaborates the Provincial Council Meeting on the Five (5) Platforms of operations that the Board is undertaking to administer the iTaukei communities.
Altogether, there were three (3) papers that the council has to endorse for the operation of its arm that is the Macuata Provincial Council’s Office:

We would also like to thank the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the iTaukei Affairs Board for his presence during the meeting. We also appreciated the presence of iTaukei Affairs Board Senior Staffs, and staff of the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs.
